Ingredients
Butter for greasing the baking dish
4 cup cubed day-old bread
1 cup mixed shredded cheese
9 eggs
3 cup milk
1 teaspoon dry mustard
½ to 1 tsp garlic powder
½ cup crumbled bleu cheese
½ cup cottage cheese
9 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
4 ounces mushroom pieces
1 cup chopped onions
Method
Butter a 9x13 inch glass baking dish. Spread the bread cubes across the bottom of the dish and sprinkle with the shredded cheese. In a large bowl, combine the eggs, milk, dry mustard and garlic powder. Add the bleu cheese and cottage cheese and mix in. Pour the mixture over the bread and cheese. Sprinkle with the bacon, mushrooms and onions. Cover and refrigerate overnight. The next day: Preheat oven to 350°. Bake the casserole, uncovered, until golden brown on top, about 50 minutes. Serve warm.
