Chocolate Curls

Whether it's adding a classic finish to your French silk pie or giving your frosted brownies a crunchy topping, chocolate curls are one of the best ways to take your homemade desserts to the next level. And while it may seem tempting to buy packages of already-made chocolate shavings, you can easily make them at home (likely for much cheaper). Ingredients
Small curls:
1 chocolate bar (milk, white or dark chocolate)
Larger curls:
2 oz. chopped bittersweet chocolate or milk chocolate
1 tsp. shortening
Method
Small Curls
Grab your favorite chocolate bar. That's right, you can easily make chocolate curls from milk, white, or dark chocolate. Just make sure it doesn't have any fillings or add-ins such as nuts or fruit to ensure smooth curls.
Large Curls
A handy trick to making big chocolate curls is by turning a baking dish upside down and spreading melted chocolate over it. Here's how to do it:
