We left our bungalow about 7:30 and walked to the Pony Island Restaurant for breakfast. After eating, we walked a couple miles around the village of Ocracoke and took some pictures. Many people were riding bikes, which is a good idea because there’s not much parking available in the business area. We had tickets for the 10:30 ferry from Ocracoke to Cedar Island. It was a 2 1/4 hour trip (we both did some reading) covering 23 miles, and we arrived at Cedar Island around 12:45. We drove 212 miles to Myrtle Beach, arriving at our hotel around 5:30. The road was nice but not very scenic. We’re staying at the Anderson Ocean Club and Spa and have a nice room with a balcony and ocean view. It’s very reasonably priced, and the best thing is there’s a washer and dryer in the room, so we did a couple loads of laundry. We will now have clean clothes for the rest of the trip.
It’s now official--Barbara has been in all 50 states! Jay reached this milestone about 13 years ago.

Today was comfortable in the morning, but was getting pretty warm by the time we were at the ferry terminal around 10:00. The high in the afternoon was in the mid-80s, and we were glad we didn’t have to walk much.
